9 October 2026

Gemini will be unavailable from 3am to 5am on Sunday 1 November 2026 while we upgrade its database and supporting software.

We have chosen this maintenance window to minimise disruption. No action is required from industry users.

How the outage will affect you

During the outage:

  • you will be unable to access Gemini or its APIs.
  • file processing will pause.

Once Gemini is back online, we will process queued files in chronological order.

If required, we’ll issue ANS messages to keep you informed of progress and any changes to service availability.

What we’re upgrading

The upgrades will help keep Gemini secure, stable and supported, while reducing operational and compliance risks.

We will upgrade:

  • PostgreSQL from version 14.7 to version 17
  • CData Arc from version 24 to version 26
  • CData PostgreSQL from version 16 to version 17

If the upgrade cannot be completed

If we encounter issues after Gemini returns to service at 5am, we may need a further outage to restore the previous version. We will notify the industry through an ANS message if this happens.

If we need to restore the previous version, the contingency window for the database upgrade is 3am to 5am on Sunday 15 November 2026.
